Put Facebook Home on your unsupported Android device
Last week Facebook released their new app which is essentially a launcher for Android to the general public. If you wanted to participate in the downloading of the app, first you’d have to meet the criteria, have one of a handful of the supported phones and be a resident of the US. If you don’t meet any of the criteria Paul O’Brien of MoDaCo has a work around for you.

A decent sat nav app comes to BlackBerry

There’s a multitude of sat nav apps for iOS and Android but as usual Blackberry handsets get left out. Now anyone wanting turn-by-turn navigation on their Blackberry have got an app from one of the big names in navigation at it comes from Telmap. Telmap Navigator has all the options you’d come to expect from a fully featured sat nav application, Points of Interest, nearest restaurants and local hospitals. It also has Facebook and Twitter integration so you can let all your friends and sometimes complete strangers know where you are. Best of all the app is free but sadly its only for the UK.

Not being on a Three All-you-can-eat data plan is a no brainer
This is a simple one to call. We all have smartphones, they keep us connected when we can’t be there in person, a multitude of apps keep us up to date with friends, family, work, news and everything inbetween.
We’ve all got enough to worry about without having to worry about how much data we’ve used and what its gonna cost us. All these apps that we use daily like Facebook, Twitter, news apps etc take our precious data. Typically data limits start from around 250Mb and go up to 2GB. For me and I suspect many other people even the 2GB package wouldn’t be enough, I tethered my phone to my iPad and streamed about 20-25 minutes of video and that used 249Mb of data. For most people that would of being their monthly allowance used in 20 minutes, but I wasn’t worried because I’m on one of Three’s All-you-can-eat data plans.
Three have a selection of data plans suitable for all budgets, so price is not an issue. As the name of the plans suggest, its all you can eat (all you can use) so you won’t have to worry about data limits because it is truly unlimited.
If your a heavy user of social websites or you spend your time watching YouTube videos then a All-you-can-eat data plan from is the way forward.
Nokia Lumia 800 mispriced by Argos.co.uk
What can only be described as a deal “too good to be true” Argos.co.uk listed the relatively new, high end, sim free Windows Phone 7 handset, the Nokia Lumia 800 for only £119.99 ($186). This was a truly amazing price and you would struggle to find a budget Android phone for the same price, even Amazon have got the same phone priced at £399.99. Keen eyed buyers excitement was short lived though as Argos reveled that the price was incorrect despite being called by The Verge to verify the price and being told it was correct. Argos took to Facebook and said that all orders placed at the £119.99 price will be canceled.

Modern Warfare 3 hits $1 billion in sales in 16 days
It comes as no surprise that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has racked up sales of $1 billion (£642m), but just how quickly it managed that feat is, it only took Activision’s newest shooter 16 days to accumulate those figures which makes it the fastest entertainment release to reach $1 billion. Modern warfare 3 beat the previous record by one day which was held by James Cameron’s blockbuster Avatar and set a new 24 hour sales record making $400 million in its first day. Although the game is a sales phenomenon many think it could be better but the highly addictive nature of the game keeps gamers coming back, I like to call it the Facebook of the gaming world, not everyone loves it but everyone is on it.

HTC say these will be the first wave of phones that will be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich and to expect the update to arrive early 2012

Facebook for iPad app
Facebook power users have forever been waiting for the official Facebook app and now it’s finally here. We saw way back in July that the iPhone version of the app had the iPad version hidden inside it in the form of code. This freshly released version is very similar to the leaked version which isn’t bad cause it is by far the best Facebook app around. The app is available for all from the app store.
