iPad mini arrives before Fridays launch

This Friday Apple and third party retailers will begin selling the iPad mini. As with most products, at least one unit has slipped through the net and arrived at the doorstep before the November 2nd launch date.
A French customer that pre-ordered an iPad mini from Darty has taken delivery of Apple’s smaller tablet.
The lucky customer was generous enough to take a couple of unboxing pictures for the curious ones among us to view.

Apple are sending out invites for an October 23rd event but you got no points for guessing what the main announcement will be.
We’re all expecting a smaller iPad to debut and take on the Nexus 7 For its 7-inch crown.
The iPad mini is anticipated to start at $249 for 8GB wifi model.
Apple looking to hit the $249 price point with the entry level iPad mini

When Apple do finally announce the iPad mini they may offer a smaller capacity than they have on any previous iPad.
To hit the $249 price point Apple will offer the iPad mini with 8GB of internal storage. The larger 9.7-inch iPad has always started at 16GB so it will be interesting to see how many people opt in and buy the 8GB mini opposed to larger storage option.
The iPad mini will directly compete with Google’s Nexus 7 in screen size and price point.
Apple are expect to unveil the iPad mini on October 23.

iPhone 5 unboxing
With the release of the iPhone 5 just 2 days away reviewers are starting to post their full reviews on Apple’s flagship phone.
Though not all of us will admit it, we all like to watch the unboxing of a new product and with the iPhone 5 there will be plenty of unboxing videos on YouTube in the coming days.
CNET are one of the first major sites to put up a full review and you can also see the unboxing below.
iPhone 5 event video now online

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for last 24 hours, you probably know the Apple announced the iPhone 5 yesterday. If you’ve been following the coverage you’ll know the stand out features are the new 4-inch display and LTE.
As with all their big events, Apple recorded the unveiling of their newest phone and it is now on their website for you to watch.

iPhone 5 pre-orders to start September 12th

As it stands we’re anticipating Apple told hold a launch event for the new iPhone on September 12th but now the word is that it will go up for pre-order the same day.
The September 12th pre-order date will be for the US and any other regions Apple plans to initially release the new iPhone. The US is set to get the iPhone on September 21st, while a second wave release for international markets will start in the first week of October.
This new piece of information comes from an iMore source that has been accurate with past launch dates.

Apple removes YouTube from iOS 6

Apple and Google are trying to distance themselves away from each other as much as possible, and in doing so Apple have removed the YouTube application from iOS 6.
Apple told The Verge that the licence to include YouTube has ended.

Apple looking to change all iOS devices to the smaller dock connector

When the new iPhone arrives next month it well debut with a newer and smaller dock connector than the current range of iOS devices. iMore has said its sources have told them that Apple want to provide the smaller dock connector on all future iOS devices so that would include the new iPod nano, iPod touch, 7-inch iPad and a new updated version of the current 9.7-inch iPad.
