Anyone looking to develop an app for BlackBerry 10 will welcome this announcement from RIM. The first full touchscreen BB 10 phone will use the same resolution as the BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha which is 1280 x 768. Every full touchscreen after this will use the 1280 x 720 resolution with the aspect ratio being 16:9. BB 10 phones that feature a touchscreen with RIM’s traditional QWERTY keyboards will have 720 x 720 resolution screens, 1:1 aspect ratio.

With this standardization of resolutions, developers will find it easier to make their apps compatible with multiple BlackBerry 10 devices.
