Apple making less profit on the New iPad than they did on the iPad 2
Apple’s latest must have device, the New iPad went on sale last Friday. Although the New iPad has an updated processor and an improved display it retained the same prices as the iPad 2. iSuppli got hold of the New iPad and tore it down, which revealed the cost to manufacture a 32GB 3G/4G LTE version costs Apple $364.35 up from $335 it cost to produce the equivalent iPad 2. The biggest contributors to the higher cost were the new Retina display, bigger battery and the 3G/4G LTE modems. isuppli also said that Samsung Electronics manufactured the display in the new iPad they took apart and they also supply the CPU.
