O2 sending your number to every website you visit

This morning O2 is feeling the wrath from its customers as its been revealed that the UK network sends your mobile phone number to ever website you visit from your phone. Lewis Peckover built a webpage to see what information was being gathered when it was visited and unfortunately for O2 customers this also includes their precious numbers. Other UK networks such as Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone do not have this privacy problem but users using Tescos Mobile and GiffGaff are also seeing their numbers being shared because they run on O2′s network. If your on O2 and worried about this issue it is advised that you browse the web using a wifi connection because your number is only sent while you are using O2′s data connection.
